5 New Year Skincare Resolutions for 2025
,As the clock struck twelve on New Year’s Eve many of us made new year resolutions, to give up or to do more of something or perhaps to try something new or maybe even go on a new adventure. January, after the excesses of the festive period, is a wonderful time to start some new year resolutions for your skin to have you looking your best in 2025.
Here are our top five new year skin resolutions.
- Hydration, hydration, hydration! Its easy to overlook! However, ensuring your skin is hydrated from inside and out and using the right moisturisers, and skincare will keep your skin plump and hydrated, minimizing fine lines and any signs of aging. A clever idea is to keep a bottle of water in your workspace, this will act as a reminder and will encourage you to drink more water.
- Sun protection, all year round. The environment is a contributory factor in skin damage and premature aging. Wearing protection all year round, be it a stand-alone SPF product or a foundation with SPF in it is a terrific way to protect your skin from skin damage.
- Collagen. Whilst it is widely publicised that there is significant loss of collagen when women experience and pass through the menopause, the skin normally actually starts to lose collagen from our twenties. Utilising products or treatments that help restore or stimulate collagen production, is a fantastic way to minimise signs of aging. Here at The Foundation Beauty Studio, we have an excellent range of skincare products and treatments to assist with this.
- Exfoliation. A good new year skin resolution is to try to ensure that exfoliation features in your skincare routine. The type and frequency etc. are down to your skin, why not check with your beauty therapist for what they recommend? Why should we exfoliate? The right exfoliation can remove dead skin cells, unblock pores etc. Post exfoliation, the skin should look brighter, smoother and fine lines may be reduced. Regular exfoliation should also minimise breakouts.
- Check your skincare products! A great new year skin resolution is to go through your products and review them. Many of us have bought products that did not work for us and are sat there cluttering up our bathroom cabinet or dressing table. If you look at the side of the container the product is in, it will say it has a life of 6, 12 or 24 months. After opening it is good idea to review and ditch any products that have been open for too long. Not achieving the skincare results, you were looking for?
